Juglas neighborhood
We rented an apartment “dzīvoklis” in the Juglas neighborhood of Rīga – see our post about the apartment. It’s in a residential, middle-class, area on the north side of the city with parks, forests, and lakes.

I see a lot of snow, but does it get really cold there? And if so, what would the lows be?
We live in a warmer part of the country next to the Baltic Sea. Most of that snow is already gone, but I see more in the forecast. I’m told this year has been fairly mild. Typical lows have been around 27degF (-3degC), but we experienced a couple nights close to 0degF (-18degC). Currently, it is 43degF (6degC).
