Tallinn Photo Library
We just took a quick trip to visit the capital of Estonia, Tallinn. Actually, it was our second visit to this city, and although it seems like a lot has changed during the 12-or-so years since our previous visit, I will stand by my initial assessment: this city is super-cool. Please enjoy some of the photos we took. Be sure to click on the images for the full uncropped versions.
Some street scenes:
The medieval city wall. Possibly the best-preserved medieval wall in Europe. Some sections date back to the 13th century:
Some churches and cathedrals:
Toompea Castle – An 18th century palace built into and on top of the remains of a medieval fortress. It is the site of the Estonian Parliament, Riigikogu:
Some street art:
Bits and bobs. We also visited a super interesting puppet theater museum. And, just before we left we stopped into a Texas-themed restaurant for tacos and margaritas. Actually, I ordered a Lonestar beer 😉
Our second trip to Tallinn and we’re already talking about another. This city, even late in the tourist season, is simply oozing charm, loads of history, with very friendly and fun people. It seems every nook and cranny has something to explore.
Čau for now!
Looks like you had a fun time! Was the puppet museum interesting?
Surprisingly, the puppet museum was very interesting. It made me think I might enjoy a production at the puppet theater here in Riga.
